Defendants were indicted for armed robbery and felony murder; the jury found each defendant guilty of armed robbery and voluntary manslaughter. Defendants Waters and brothers Joel Carter and Tommy Carter were sentenced to concurrent terms of 20 years for armed robbery and 20 years for voluntary manslaughter. Defendants Rushing and Julia Darlene (Peanut) Tillis were sentenced to concurrent terms of 20 years for armed robbery and 10 years for voluntary...
