Appellee was arrested by appellant James Ledwith, a Tucson police officer, on May 24, 1980, and charged with disorderly conduct. The charges were subsequently dismissed upon motion of the state, and appellee filed the present action against the Ledwiths and the City of Tucson seeking compensatory and punitive damages for false arrest, false imprisonment and malicious prosecution.
