Brenda Joyce Ford was indicted in the First District of the Circuit Court of Hinds County for the murder of James Willie Peters. The first trial on this charge ended in a mistrial after the jury failed to return a verdict. This appeal is from the second trial in which Ms. Ford was found guilty of manslaughter and sentenced to twenty years imprisonment. Ford appeals, assigning as error that the lower court abused its discretion...
