Appellant, Purnell Whelton, was convicted in the Municipal Court of Philadelphia of Carrying a Firearm Without a License (18 Pa.C.S.A. § 6106) and Carrying a Firearm on a Public Street or Place in Philadelphia (18 Pa.C.S.A. § 6108).1 Sentence consisted of a $50.00 fine for each charge, as well as the payment of $10.00 to the Victims' Compensation Fund.
