The defendant was tried in the Superior Court before a jury and convicted on an indictment charging him with unlawfully carrying a firearm, G.L.c. 269, § 10(a), and on a single count of an indictment charging three counts of assault and battery by means of a dangerous weapon (a motor vehicle), G.L.c. 265, § 15A.1 He was sentenced to a four to five year State prison term on the firearm charge and a concurrent term...
