This opinion addresses the entry of judgment on a special verdict pursuant to Fed. R.Civ.P. 49(a). After deliberating for seven and one-half days, a jury, which sat through 81 trial days and what turned out to be 15,564 transcript pages of proceedings, returned its special verdict on March 17, 1983.
