Defendant Carl Dansby was indicted, tried and convicted on four counts of theft by deception in that he, as plant manager of Duffey's Boneless Beef Company, a slaughterhouse and beef packing company, had processed a total of forty-five phantom cows on four occasions in July and August of 1978.
