Defendant, Charles Pike, was charged by bill of information with the crime of simple burglary of an inhabited dwelling, a violation of R.S. 14:62.2. After trial by judge on December 14 and 15, 1981, defendant was found guilty as charged. A presentence investigation report was ordered, and on April 15, 1982 the court sentenced defendant to three years at hard labor, the first year to be served without benefit of probation, parole or suspension...
