A jury found the defendant, Howard Davis, Jr., guilty of two counts of distribution of marijuana, a violation of LSA-R.S. 40:966A, and one count of distribution of cocaine, a violation of LSA-R.S. 40:967 A. The trial judge sentenced the defendant to the Louisiana Department of Corrections for a term of three years at hard labor on each count of distribution of marijuana, and five years at hard labor on his conviction of distribution of cocaine, the sentences...
