Petitioner was indicted for murdering a fellow inmate at the Louisiana State Penitentiary and pleaded guilty without capital punishment in June of 1964, receiving a sentence of life imprisonment. Apparently there was no direct appeal, but petitioner filed four state habeas corpus petitions, asserting the invalidity of his guilty plea. Relief was denied by the Louisiana Supreme Court in State ex rel. Dunn v. Henderson, 255 La. 819...
