In March 1978 a road crew on the Nenana Highway found eight or nine burlap bags containing "soil, ashes, burned bone/ivory artifacts, ground or chipped stone artifacts, glass, occasional pieces of iron, many nails, ... 1 wooden box, 1 cardboard box and a few unburned bone and ivory artifacts."
