BRYNER, Chief Judge.

On June 24, 1980, Sammie Lee Hemphill attempted to cash a $387.38 check at the First National Bank of Anchorage. The check was listed with the bank as stolen. Hemphill was indicted on a charge of forgery in the second degree, a class C felony. AS 11.46.505(a)(1).
