Respondent determined a deficiency in petitioner's Federal income tax in the amount of $13,477.73 for the taxable year 1977. The issues for decision are: (1) Whether petitioner is entitled to a deduction for amounts paid to settle a claim against her husband's estate, and (2) whether petitioner is entitled to a deduction for amounts paid for legal fees incurred in connection with the claim against her husband's estate....
