Patricia Kwallek was found guilty of murder in the first degree on December 18, 1982. She was released on bond on December 22, 1982. On January 7, 1983, the state filed a motion to remand Kwallek into custody pursuant to the new bail statute, AS 12.30.040(b), which became effective on January 1, 1983.
