These separate property damage actions were consolidated for trial without a jury. The cases arose out of a collision between two automobiles at an intersection in Knoxville, Tennessee. Each driver sued the other for property damage sustained in the collision, and, in addition, each driver sued the City of Knoxville for alleged negligence in the maintenance of a traffic sign on one of the streets.
