The defendant, Carl Ray Perkins, entered a plea of guilty to one count of theft in December 1977. The trial court granted a deferred judgment and sentence in conjunction with a stipulation in which Perkins agreed to restitution of $65,000 over a five year period. Subsequently the deferred sentence stipulation was amended so that it would continue to be in effect until Perkins completed restitution. The issue on appeal is the extent of the trial court...
