ABRAMS, J.

After a trial by jury, the defendant was convicted of unlawful sexual intercourse with a person under the age of sixteen. G.L.c. 265, § 23.1 Day appeals, claiming error concerning the (1) denial of his motion to suppress statements made by him to police officers; (2) rulings and instructions concerning the date of the offense; and (3) instructions on the voluntariness of the defendant's statements.
