On November 27, 1973, William Brownson was shot during an altercation with the plaintiff-respondent Grace M. Rajspic. In a subsequent criminal action against Mrs. Rajspic she was acquitted of assault with a deadly weapon upon the ground of mental disease or defect excluding responsibility.
