The defendant, Michael J. Johnson, was charged by Bill of Information with the crime of simple burglary in violation of LSA-R.S. 14:62, arising from an incident involving the breaking and entering of and the taking of property from Nicholson Elementary School in Baton Rouge, Louisiana, on April 24, 1982.
