Defendant Jessie Bell appeals his conviction of second degree murder.

The facts are as follows. At approximately 11:00 P.M. on August 12, 1980, defendant visited a friend, Robert Moore, at Moore's home. Also present were Garland Jackson, who resided with Moore, and the victim, Joe Russell. The four men were in the front of the house where Moore slept.
