The defendant appeals from judgment of the district court in this action brought pursuant to § 301 of the Labor Management Relations Act of 1947, 29 U.S.C. § 185 (1976). The plaintiff, Peter Catalano, had been employed by the defendant for approximately 34 years when he was terminated upon the closing of the Armour plant where he worked.
