The defendant was indicted and charged with two counts of robbery in the first degree (Penal Law, § 160.15), one count of robbery in the second degree (Penal Law, § 160.10) and one count of grand larceny in the second degree (Penal Law, § 155.35). The indictment arose out of an incident that occurred on January 15, 1981, when a taxicab driver was robbed at knifepoint by two men and a woman acting in concert.
