OPINION

EVANS, Chief Justice.

This is an appeal from a judgment entered on the jury's verdict in a personal injury action. The plaintiffs are the surviving mother and children of Ms. Leslie D. Head, deceased.

Shortly after midnight on June 26, 1975, Ms. Head was driving her automobile southbound on a two-lane road in Harris County. For some reason, Ms. Head's vehicle suddenly crossed to the left over the northbound lane of the road, striking a culvert...
