Defendant-appellant Evelyn Hasselbring (Hasselbring) was convicted by a jury in the Fountain Circuit Court of voluntary manslaughter of her husband, Alton. She originally appealed raising the issues (1) of irregularities in the jury selection procedure in that one of the jury commissioners was not a resident of Fountain County, and (2) sufficiency of the evidence.
