On November 14, 1976, appellant pleaded guilty to first degree murder and was sentenced to life imprisonment. On July 13, 1981, over four and one-half years later, he filed a handwritten petition for post-conviction relief pursuant to A.R.Cr.P. Rule 37. In it he alleged that his conviction should be set aside because (1) he was under age at the time of the crime, (2) he received misleading advice by his attorney, and (3) he was under the influence...
