On April 10, 1981, a jury found the defendant guilty of the unlawful manufacture, delivery or possession of a controlled substance, marijuana, with intent to deliver. MCL 333.7401; MSA 14.15(7401). He was sentenced on May 7, 1981, to a term of 18 months to 4 years imprisonment.

The defendant's problems arose from the fact that two dump truck loads of marijuana, weighing approximately 8,000 pounds...
