The appellants, Edward Fisher and Royal Napoleon Landry, were found guilty in a non-jury trial of criminal conspiracy1 and possession of unstamped cigarettes.2 They were subsequently sentenced to be imprisoned for one to three years on the possession charge and one to two years on the conspiracy charge, the sentences to run concurrently.
