BURNS, Chief Judge.

In this manslaughter prosecution against defendant Davelynn Kaeka, the State appeals from a pretrial order suppressing certain inculpatory statements made by Kaeka while in custody. Authority for appeal by the State of an adverse interlocutory order is found in Hawaii Revised Statutes (HRS) § 641-13(7) (Supp. 1981).1
