Appellant was found guilty by a jury of kidnapping for the purpose of engaging in sexual intercourse or deviate sexual activity and of engaging in sexual intercourse and deviate sexual activity with a female person by forceable compulsion, a violation of Ark. Stat.Ann. §§ 41-1702 and 41-1803 (Repl. 1977). The evidence at trial overwhelmingly established appellant's guilt. The victim was beaten, cut, strangled and burned before her escape...
