This diversity1 case arises out of an automobile accident which occurred in Somerset County, Maryland, on or about October 21, 1979. One of the automobiles involved in the accident, a 1973 Pontiac Firebird manufactured by defendant General Motors Corporation (GM), was being driven by the wife of plaintiff. The collision allegedly caused plaintiff's wife to sustain serious injuries resulting in her death....
