On January 16, 1982, plaintiff-appellee received an award of workers' compensation from the Workers' Compensation Appeal Board (WCAB) with liability apportioned between defendants Ford Motor Company and Weltronic Company (Chubb & Son is Weltronic's workers' compensation insurance carrier).
