DURHAM, Justice:

Plaintiff/appellant, George J. Bitzes, Jr. (appellant), entered into an agreement in 1977 for an option to purchase a lot on property to be subdivided and developed by defendant/respondent, Sunset Oaks, Inc. (respondent). Appellant filed this action seeking specific enforcement of the option agreement or, in the alternative, appropriate damages. Appellant prevailed and was awarded $5,000 in damages by the trial court, which amount he claims is inappropriate...
