We are confronted here with an appeal by William Jerome Smith and a cross-appeal by the State. Mr. Smith challenges his convictions of armed robbery and use of a handgun in the commission of a felony on the grounds that he was denied a speedy trial and that the Interstate Agreement on Detainers, Md.
