KENNEDY, Judge.

Defendant Tompkins was convicted upon jury trial of assault with intent to kill without malice, § 559.190, RSMo 1969 (repealed January 1, 1979). In accordance with the jury's verdict he was sentenced to five years' imprisonment.

He has appealed to this court. His single point on appeal is that the court erred in failing to instruct the jury on self-defense. He asks us to review this omission as plain error, Rule 29.12(b), since the point...
