This is a diversity action by the plaintiff for the wrongful death of her son from the explosion of surface casings on an oil well in Wyoming. The plaintiff is suing the owner of the well, Cotton Petroleum (hereinafter "Cotton"), and the installer of the casings, Mercury Drilling Company (hereinafter "Mercury"), for negligence, strict liability and breach of warranty.
