The defendant and a codefendant were indicted in a supermarket robbery. The robbers were pursued by the police and fired at the officers who returned the fire. The robbers escaped on foot, but the defendant Johnson was apprehended. The significance of the shooting at the police officers is apparent in the fact that a challenge for cause was denied to the defendant for a juror whose son was then a police officer, said juror being seated because the defendant had exhausted...
