The defendant appeals his conviction for armed robbery, contending that he was forced against his will to represent himself at trial.

The defendant was arrested on March 13, 1978. He appeared in court on April 5, April 13, and April 19, 1978, and on each occasion stated that he intended to get his own attorney.
