Respondent was charged with possession of heroin with intent to distribute simple possession of marijuana, and unlawful possession of marijuana, and unlawful possession of a pistol. He was apprehended and his automobile searched pursuant to information given to police by a confidential informer. A search warrant was never obtained. At trial respondent moved to suppress the evidence found as a result of the alleged illegal...
