PAULSON, Justice.

Donald Storebo, d/b/a Storebo Construction [Storebo] brought an action against Gerald F. Foss and Geraldine D. Foss (The Fosses) to enforce a mechanic's lien and collect the unpaid amount due on a building construction contract. The Fosses counterclaimed seeking damages for breach of contract. The District Court of Morton County dismissed Storebo's complaint, vacated the mechanic's lien, and awarded the Fosses $3,560 in damages on their counterclaim...
