Defendant (Appellant) was convicted of Forgery, Ind. Code § 35-43-5-2 (Burns 1979) and of being an Habitual Offender, Ind. Code § 35-50-2-8 (Burns 1979) and was sentenced to thirty-five (35) years imprisonment. The forgery conviction was adjudged upon a guilty plea, and the habitual offender conviction upon a plea of not guilty and a trial to the bench pursuant to Ind. Code § 35-50-2-8(c) (Burns 1979).
