The defendant, Arnold Payne, was convicted by a jury of robbery in the second degree and of unlawful restraint in the first degree.1 He has appealed, claiming various errors in the trial court's rulings and instructions to the jury. His principal claim, however, is that the evidence against him was insufficient to sustain a verdict of guilty and that the trial court, therefore, erred in denying his motion for acquittal...
