On September 24, 1980, defendant was convicted by jury of three counts of drawing a check without having a checking balance, contrary to MCL 750.131a; MSA 28.326(1). Five days later, in a bench trial, defendant was found to be a six-time felony offender, pursuant to MCL 769.12-769.13; MSA 28.1084-28.1085.
