Appellant, Floyd William Reed, was convicted in Chattooga County of murdering his wife, Ruby Reed.

Appellant and the victim lived in a trailer several hundred feet from Peach Orchard Road in Chattooga County. Prior to the date of the offense, the couple had been separated for about three weeks.
