On January 7, 1980, Kathleen Elaine Howlett, the appellant, was convicted on a guilty plea in the Circuit Court for Washington County of two counts of forgery. On May 18, 1980, she was sentenced to the custody of the Division of Correction for a five-year period for each offense to be served consecutively thus making a total of ten years.
