Sneed appeals from the district court's denial of his petition for a writ of habeas corpus under 28 U.S.C. § 2254 in which he challenged his North Carolina conviction of and consecutive sentencing to a total term of twenty years for one count of forgery and one count of uttering a single check in the amount of $188.90.
