George Robinson purchased a money market certificate from the West Greeley National Bank in 1979, and named his stepdaughter, defendant Loretta Wygant, as the pay on death (P.O.D.) beneficiary. On April 24, 1980, however, having by then married defendant Hope Robinson, he orally requested the bank to change the beneficiary to his wife. Six months later he died.
