An indictment was returned charging a number of defendants with violations of the Racketeer Influenced and Corrupt Organizations Act (RICO) 18 U.S.C. §§ 1961 — 1968. The indictment alleged defendants were members of a criminal enterprise known as "La Cosa Nostra" engaged in extorting money from dealers in pornographic material through violence and fear, and had committed other illegal acts, including murder, to prevent exposure...
