NELSON, Circuit Judge:

Appellants seek review of the district court's judgment dismissing their claim that Appellees' policy of precluding boys from playing on girls' interscholastic volleyball teams in Arizona high schools violates the equal protection clause. The district court held that the policy was a permissible means of attempting to insure equality of opportunity for girls in Arizona interscholastic sports and of redressing past discrimination.
