This is a direct appeal from a decision by the Board of Immigration Appeals, which affirmed a finding by a judge of the Immigration and Naturalization Service (I&NS). The immigration judge found that Esmaeil Torabpour was deportable because he had overstayed his temporary admission period without receiving an extension of stay. On appeal it is urged that Torabpour was denied due process and his right to counsel during the deportation hearings...
