This case involves a consumer's right to recover civil penalties from an extender of credit because of a violation of the Louisiana Consumer Credit Law. Defendants, Nathan and Geraldine Smith, obtained a loan from Reliable Credit Corporation in September 1978 to purchase stereo equipment.
